Cost: $100

This workshop will focus on the basic skills to make a killer bottle opener like none other. We will then explore new ideas to expand the design and embellish these tools.  Students will begin by learning the different tools used by the blacksmith, including the anvil, forge, different hammers, handheld tooling, hardy tooling, and the use of punches and drifts. We will also cover topics like patina and metal finishing techniques. During this workshop the student could make as many as 4 different bottle openers. There is no experience needed for this workshop.

Blacksmith Basics - Steel Garden Flowers

During this workshop you will produce at least 1, maybe 2 of these sweet steel garden flowers. Choose between a Lilly, a Sunflower, or a Daffodil. We start with a pre-cut blank and forge texture and detail into the flower pedals. Then you’ll shape the pedals to you liking and rivet them to the forged stem. We’ll choose to finish them with the torch colors or traditional blackened steel and wax. These are going to look awesome is your garden. There is no experience needed for this workshop.

This workshop will focus on the basic skills of the Blacksmith. Hooks are generally one of the first projects a beginner will learn because the process is simple but involves several basic skills at the same time. Students will begin by learning about the different tools used, including the anvil, forge, different hammers, handheld tooling, and hardy tooling. This workshop will provide a solid base of different blacksmithing techniques like bending, tapering, fullering, and drawing material out. We will also cover topics like patina and metal finishing techniques. The hook can be the simplest of projects or can be embellished into a functional work of art. There is no experience needed for this workshop.

Blacksmithing Basics - BBQ Tools

GREAT FATHERS DAY GIFT!! This workshop will focus on the basic skills to make hand forged barbeque tools. Students will begin by learning the different tools used by the blacksmith, including the anvil, forge, different hammers, hardy tooling, and the use of chisels. We will also cover topics like patina and metal finishing techniques that are food safe. Students should be able to complete 1-3 different tools during this workshop. No experience needed.
